Career Confidence take into account the lawful and responsible treatment of personal information and consequently ensures that this data is collected, processed, stored and disposed of with this in mind.

To this end, Career Confidence subscribes to the principles of Data Protection, and is in full compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

This privacy notice provides information about the ways Career Confidence collects, stores, shares or keeps personal information with those who interact with us.

USING OUR WEBSITE:

SEARCH ENGINE:

The search facility on our website is an internal search function and only returns information that appears on the website.

ENQUIRY AND SIGN-UP:

All users give consent to be contacted by Career Confidence and can unsubscribe at any time by contacting Career Confidence directly with your request.

We do not share data with third parties except when necessary to process it and where 3rd parties are required to process the data (e.g. Microsoft email service), we ensure that those 3rd parties are in full compliance with the Data Protection Regulation.

Clients may share CVs, cover letters or application forms when engaged with the service.  Career Confidence regards the lawful and responsible treatment as of paramount importance. Information provided on this form will be utilised in the following ways:

  • To administrate and facilitate career guidance in a smooth manner;
  • Where information is provided in relation (e.g. referral or the multidisciplinary team), this information will shared, with clear consent, in order to provide the necessary supports and best service;
  • Some elements of data provided may be used, in aggregated and anonymous form, for research/statistical purposes in order to inform best practice and service development.

We have taken appropriate measures to ensure that data is secure including implementing local file encryption, applying an SSL certificate to our website, implementing increased web server protection so that your data is very secure, implementing appropriate use of passwords and mobile devices,  and ensuring that 3rd party services and organisations we have to interact with are in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

TELEPHONE CALLS:

If you call us with a query, we do not audio record telephone calls. We do keep an encrypted soft copy log of key query information (name, email address, query category and query summary (anonymous)) but the name and email identifiers are removed as soon as the query status has been marked complete. Please note that a query’s status is only moved to complete upon final correspondence regarding the matter.  In some cases handwritten notes about a query are taken during phone calls. All notebooks are kept in a locked cabinet when not in use and are destroyed on a yearly basis.

EMAILING US:

 Please be aware that it is the sender’s responsibility to ensure that the content of their emails is within the bounds of the law. Unsolicited material of a criminal nature will be reported to the relevant authorities and blocked.

DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION:

In the unlikely event of a Data Breach, Career Confidence will notify data subjects affected by the breach and the Data Protection Commissioner within 72 hours of us learning of the breach in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.

DATA SUBJECT REQUEST:

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, individuals can request a copy of all data stored on them by Career Confidence.  You can make a Data Subject Request by contacting us with your name, email address and any other useful information to outline how you’ve interacted with us.

In the event of a Data Subject Request, Career Confidence will endeavour to provide you the material within 30 days.
